Language Arts

What are we learning?

  • We have completed our study of functional formats and are taking a few days to sharpen our test taking skills related to reading different genres.

Math

What are we learning?

  • AAP math is learning how to read and understand circle graphs. We will compare the data to bar graphs.
  • Grade five math is learning about area, perimeter and volume,

  • When do you use different types of graphs and how do they help you make sense of large amounts of data ?

  • When do you need to measure for area vs perimeter or volume?

Science

What are we learning?

  • The Fields of Science unit has begun! We have learned how to use microscopes and are learning how to differentiate between  types of cells. We will next learn about the parts and functions of cells. 
  •  REMINDER: FIELD TRIP ON FRIDAY, Need to be at school at 8:00. AM

Home/School Connection

  • Discuss different types of scientists. Some work in the field, some in a lab.
