Language Arts

What are we learning?

  • We have begun our Poetry Unit in Language Arts!
  • Readers are responding to poetry through performance, art, and writing
  • Students are learning different forms of figurative language to aid in their own writing of poetry and to better understand the deeper meaning of poems
  • Readers are noticing that poetic tools reveal images, evoke feelings, and produce sounds to create a message for the reader to interpret
  • Students will write their own set of poems, and share during our writing celebration in March!
