Language Arts
What are we learning?
- Students will understand that the meaning of a poem is constructed by the poet and the reader interacting with text. In order to uncover the deeper meaning of a poem, students weigh the author’s perspective with their own perspective.
- Students will understand that poetic tools reveal images, evoke feelings, and produce sounds to create a message for the reader to interpret.
- Students are completing their final draft of their Fantasy writing.

Math
What are we learning?
- Students will explore the language of algebra as they learn the meaning of a variable and apply this understanding to the translation of patterns, models and story contexts to algebraic expressions and equations.
- AAP math students will begin to discover and understand proportions

- Create story problems with an unknown value and replace a variable with the unknown value in order to create an equation.

Science
What are we learning?
- Students will begin to study the basic characteristics of light, the colors of the visible spectrum, and how light travels.

- Notice light reflecting, refracting, and transmitting in everyday life activities
Social Studies
What are we learning?
- Students finished their study and research of Ancient African and Ancient Greece culture
