Language Arts

What are we learning?

  • Readers actively prepare for test questions using everything they know about tests and the genre.
  • Readers use test-taking strategies in order to select the correct answer or answers
  • Writers elaborate using elements that inform and persuade so that the reader can make an educated decision.

What are we learning?

  • Show multiplication in a variety of ways including pictures, arrays, number lines, and equations 
  • Explore the relationship between multiplication and division
  • Determine if two math expressions are equal or unequal

  • Describe how numbers can be divided equally in real life experiences

AAP Math

What are we learning?

  • Learning to identify, describe, compare and contrast geometric figures
  • Key Vocabulary: points, line segments, rays, lines, congruent, non-congruent, polygons, angles, intersect, parallel, perpendicular

  • Where do you see geometry in everyday life?
  • Encourage students to use key vocabulary words from this unit in their daily lives

Science

What are we learning?

  • Soil is made up of various components: silt, sand, gravel, clay, humus
  • Plants require different soil components to grow well
  • Analyze data to draw conclusions about soil mixtures
