Art

  • K-2 Art students are working on seasonal landscapes, holiday traditions and warm and cool colors. They are looking at the art of George Rodrigue.
  • 3-6 Art students are working on Op Art, seasonal cultural themes, and showing depth through shading and perspective. They are looking at the art of Jacob Lawrence.

Music

We are starting the last week of our unit “Culture and Careers,” where we have been learning about patriotic music and the different kinds of jobs in the field of music. Each grade is learning one patriotic song: 

K - This Land is Your Land

1st - Yankee Doodle

2nd - Thank You Soldiers

3rd - You’re a Grand Old Flag

4th, 5th & 6th - Star Spangled Banner

 

Library

  • K-6 will learn about Ruby Bridges
  • K-1 will learn about Bessie Stringfield 
  • Library visits this week will be with K, 1st, a few 4th and 6th grade classes
  • Library Deliveries continue to happen on Mondays with some spillover into Tuesday

LTC

In LTC/Spanish students continue to work on their projects.

  • 6 The earth and Me

Physical Education

  • In PE K-2 students will be working on rhythms and dance and activities to do outside PE class. During Health we will work on Healthy Bodies. Discussing Hygiene and Germs. 
  • In Grades 3-6 students will be working on underhand throwing and throwing challenges .  In our Health component students will learn about Healthy Bodies.
