HOLA AMIG@S!!!

Welcome to LANGUAGE THROUGH CONTENT class in other words LTC! I am Senora Calvache Vu, a language specialist, with 23 years of experience teaching.

I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year.

This school year we will learn Spanish through Science content.

Students are asked to bring the following supplies to school before second week of school: One 2 pockets folder (solid color would be better)

There is no homework in this program. However I will try to encourage students to practice the language at home by: 1) sharing their productions , activities or games with family and friends to review, practice writing and expanding options related what we have covered in class.  2) Trying to interact with videos, books, movies, among other materials that can be borrowed in libraries or purchased.

Everything that we do during our Spanish classes will count for your child report card: warm ups, games, activities, routines, presentations, projects, assignments (indoors or outdoors), quizzes or tests are considered as well as the behavior.

Classroom rules (TO BE READY, RESPONSIBLE AND RESPECTFUL) Consequences (visual/verbal warnings, thinking sheet, referral to office, parents contacted.) Student and parents can review anytime and reinforce them at home.

Special classroom events planned for the year include International week, lights night, readings, projects displays, etc.

Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. We hope you will make it a priority this year to attend as many school-sponsored events as possible. Also do not forget to support our language Spanish program.
