In Mr. Andert’s Classes:

  • Kindergarteners are preparing a performance based on the book “Snow” by Manya Stojic. Students learned a song with movements. They also created animal movements with a small group. Finally, they chose an instrument as a sound-effect to accompany their animal’s movement. We are trying to find a way to share this with families!
  • 1st Graders are preparing a performance based on the story, “The Mitten.” Students learned a pentatonic song with movements, and an accompaniment on xylophone. The classes chose an instrument to represent each character. We have actors/actresses pantomiming the story, xylophone players and instrument sound-effects. We are trying to find a way to share this with families!
  • 2nd and 3rd Grades just finished a drumming unit last week. They performed a piece called “Monkey, Monkey, Moo” for their classroom teachers, administration and office staff.
  • 4th Grade is finishing a drumming unit, and a piece called “Big Turtle Sat.” Some classes performed last Friday, and some will be performing early next week. These groups learned parts for tubano, triangle, claves, bass drum, guiro and wood block.
  • 5th Grade is finishing up their drumming unit, and a piece called “Once I Caught a Fish Alive.” This group has learned parts for tubano (hand drum), bass drum, cowbell and maracas. They are also trying their hand at improvising. Some volunteers will improvise a solo for our final performance next week.

How should we direct the Ozobot to move?  How about a tornado spin?
Student Angles

Student Angles 2
Can you identify this type of angle?
