Art

  • K-2 artists will be working on using organic and geometric shapes in their artwork.
  • 3-6 artists will be continuing to use different ways to show depth in their artwork.

Music

Last week we began our new unit “Music Tells a Story.” 

  • K - 2 students are learning story songs (like “The Lady with the Alligator Purse”) and will listen to musical stories (K: “Tubby the Tuba”/1st-2nd: “Peter and the Wolf”). Students will continue to work on reading rhythms.  
  • 3 - 6 students are learning about how some music tells stories by exploring ballads, program music (instrumental), and will be making their own sound effects and soundtracks to a story. Students will also continue learning or reviewing how to play the recorder. 

Library

  • Lower grades will hear the newest picture book by Jory John called The Couch Potato.
  • Upper grade visits will be related to research and primary/secondary sources.

LTC

In LTC/Spanish students continue to work on their projects.

Physical Education

  • In PE K-2 students continue to work on Teamwork.  We will be working on throwing and catching over the next few weeks along with some fun challenges.
  • In Grades 3-6 students are learning about the 5 components of fitness, including a plank challenge for Muscular Endurance, Conflict Resolution, and Staying Safe online, and in the Community. We will work on throwing activities along with some fun challenges over the next few weeks.
